A few weeks ago, my beautiful friend Bec mentioned she was going to shoot her gorgeous sister’s family, and asked if I wanted to come along to provide some support (and keep an eye on her adorable little toddler, Ash). With an emphatic “YES,” I eagerly tagged along. I just love seeing how other photographer’s shoot – it’s why I go to workshops I think! :)

Anyway, Bec was a joy to watch. She claimed to feel all nervous and jittery and asked for a few shooting tips when we started, but within two minutes, she was off in her own little world and it was a wonderful sight to behold. What’s more, Ash was being his usual lovely self and so I took it upon myself to take a few frames while Bec the Photographer was happily snapping away.

Speaking of family + photography, I’m with all of my lovely in-laws and extended family in Adelaide this week, as my brother-in-law is getting married!! :) I’m in the bridal party (photos to come – although I’m certain I won’t be blogging many of myself in my way-too-tight-because-I-forgot-to-diet bridesmaid’s dress) but will also act as the THIRD photographer! Yup, that’s right: Zoe and Ben (bride and groom) have got themselves two very talented, very amazing Adeladian wedding photographers to shoot their big day (thank you a million times over, Karen and Melody!! So excited to watch you guys work it!). It’s going to be a fabulous day, I just know it.

And then… (drumroll please)… I’m headed to Melbourne this weekend for the national Australian Professional Photography Awards, in which I entered photos for the first time! I am soooo very excited. Not only do I get to watch the amazingly talented judges score and discuss fabulous photos from all around Australia, I get to hang with my peers and do some face-to-face catching up! Can I get a “woot woot,” my friends?? :)
