I left Ally and James’ wedding thinking two things: 1. Was I a guest there or the hired help? and 2. When am I gonna get to see these two again?
They were the kind of people that, after minutes of being around them, made me feel like we were the greatest of friends. Ally and James are hysterically witty, and my only regret from their day was not recording their clever banter and excerpts of their wedding speeches (yes, the bride spoke! Love it when they do that!). :) I found myself coming back to my hotel room to tell He-Pobke all the witty one-liners of the night: “And then James said he went from being Donald Draper to Gollum from Lord of the Rings!” He-Pobke stared at me blankly as I butchered joke after joke.
I guess you just had to be there.
I should’ve known I’d end up with a major friendship crush on them though, from our initial correspondence all the way from London (where they were based). Ally’s story of how they met; her obsession with golden retrievers; his love of the AFL (they kinda sorta planned their wedding date around the AFL grand final schedule); their engagement story; etc. etc. all indicated what would be a beautifully perfect day. And totally my kind of people.
Perfect wedding, perfect couple, perfect location, perfect everything.
Thank you Mr and Mrs Morris (!!) for your fun and laughs and trust and awesomeness. Thank you for the tasty macaroons. Thank you for taking such good care of me. Thank you for Pippa’s pressie. Thank you for our new friendship! Love you both and hope we can hang out again soon. Congratulations x 1,000,000. :) xooxox
[Special thanks to my wonderful second shooter Lea Johnson on being so amazing on the day! Love you to bits and wish we lived closer so we could see each other more!!]
