What a fabulous three day weekend it’s been thus far. Sure, the hubbster and I wasted a morning looking at really really ridiculously ugly houses on Saturday morning, but that was only the smallest portion of our fantastic weekend (can I get a big fat “BOOOO” to the ridiculously expensive Canberra real estate market??). On the plus side, we’ve been feasting our eyes with fabulous movies (Animal Kingdom) and filling our bellies with deliciously tasty dinner concoctions (thanks to our new slow cooker, we enjoyed a shredded beef chili con carne! Drool.).
The best part of my weekend, however, has been mentoring my awesome “mentee” from Sydney, Kellee Walsh. Kellee is everything I wish I had been when I first started shooting: intuitive, organised, a perfectionist. :) And after only six months, she’s developed a keen sense of the type of photographer she wants to be, and wanted to spend the day with me to learn how I roll! As with all my mentor sessions, I teach everything, no holds barred. And boy did I talk (poor Kellee’s ears are probably spent from listening to me all day!). After our tasty tasty brunch at Tilley’s (arguably the best coffee in Canberra!), we went back to my place and went over post-processing, workflow, selling, pricing, branding, you-name-it we talked about it. We even fit in a quick family session (to illustrate my shooting techniques) and I shot some beautimous headshots of the gorgeous Kellee. [For those interested in signing up for my mentor sessions, please see the post here. If you're interested in signing up, please message me for more information (FYI July + August + September are all booked up).]
Isn’t Kellee peeeeeerrrrrty? :) I think so! And she’s nice and talented to boot!

And some shots of Kellee in action… she’s a natural!
Aaaaaand, we got to photograph these gorgeous siblings… how beautiful are they? Their adorableness, coupled with the gorgeous 12 degree (but very sunny-licious) weather made for a fantastic afternoon shoot. Kellee and I had a blast with this trio, who jump-roped, climbed trees, and showed up their racing skills for us! Selina and Michael, thanks again for volunteering your children! Hope you love these photos as much as I loved taking them! :)
