Over the weekend, Husband P, Helmet Dave and I joined our friend Mark to go fishing in Jindabyne. Jindabyne is a lovely town located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, and is one of the few places in Australia where snowboarders and ski-bunnies can actually find some fresh powder in the winter.
Not being huge skiiers in general, we try to avoid it in the cold months as all the B&Bs, caravan parks and hostels are completely booked out. But come summer? It’s a ghost town… and thus, the prime spot for a quick day trip with no traffic but lots of things to do.
So we packed up our gear and went a-fishin’ in Jindabyne for the day! Sure we didn’t catch anything, but something about being amidst nature and surrounded by beauty, serenity and quiet was all we needed to have an amazing time. It’s true I don’t “do nature” (what is up with flying spider webs with dangly baby spiders on the ends?!) but small doses are great. I think each of us sighed, “How’s the serenity… So much serenity…” about once every thirty minutes. It was that peaceful! (Or we just really love quoting movies.)
Husband P took this shot… pretty amazing, huh?

I think Clint thought I might have caught something but alas… my line was just stuck in a submerged tree.
