My new look!!!! Over the past few months, I’ve been working with an immensely talented graphic designer, Renee Rist of Ribbons of Red. I can’t stop gushing about this girl – she’s fun, she’s fabulous, she’s crazy-talented… she’s just AMAZING. If I wasn’t living so far away (she’s based in Cincinnati, Ohio), you can bet your bum I’d be at her doorstep everyday wanting to hang out. You know, get some coffee, do some girl talk, chill. She’s that cool.
Anyway, on top of all this niceness and fabulousness, she’s probably the most talented designer I know. I went to her knowing nothing about logos. Up until now, everything was designed by yours truly (I’m sure you could tell). So, when she asked me what type of designs I was thinking, I first said: “Ummm, I don’t know.” And then I sent her about a million images of all things pretty: vintage cameras, old trees, kids, tires, new trees, lacy patterns. Yep, I was pretty much a nightmare to work with. It was as if I was pointing to things around the room at random, saying, “Oh! That’s pretty. And that plant is nice. And I like my table. And I love lamp.” (Anchorman reference, anyone?).
Nevertheless, in spite of the fact that she went off and got married (in VEGAS!! How cool is that?), had her honeymoon, and stacks of work to catch up on, she prioritised me and sent me some amazing designs to choose from. But when I saw this, I knew. I knew like the day I chose my wedding dress. Or when I saw that hunky, hunky Australian man all those years ago and knew he was the man for me. Me + this new logo = LOVE. Love I tell you!
So? What do you think? [And for more info on the behind-the-scenes story of the logo, check out Renee's post here]
